Addressing both the vulnerability and the creative potential of urban coastal areas, "Convivial Waterfronts" is a five-year, €1.9 million transdisciplinary project funded by the Volkswagen Foundation through a Change! Fellowship grant. Led by PI Dr. Antonova at TUM, "Convivial Waterfonts" works with environmental NGOs in Burgas (BBF), Cádiz (Salarte), and Vlora (PPNEA) to develop innovative conservation practices for reimagining urban coastlines as laboratories for coexistence between humans and nonhuman others.
A three-year (2022-2025) Horizon Europe Research & Innovation consortium grant working with coastal communities in six Transitional Coastal Labs across Europe: in Bulgaria, Cyprus, Finland, Ireland, Norway, and Spain
A six-year (2020-2026) project sponspored by the Volkswagen Foundation at LMU Munich to establish the MA "Environment and Society" (2022-) and run the "One Book Many Worlds - Munich Reads Gun Island by Amitav Ghosh" outreach initiative (2024-2025)
